Multiple URL Opener › Tab groups
Open a list of links in a Chrome tab group
Tab groups keep related tabs together. Instead of opening links and grouping them by hand, open the whole list straight into a group.
Part of the guide
How to do it
- Paste your links into Multiple URL Opener.
- Open the menu next to the Open button and choose Tab Group. The first time, Chrome asks for the tab groups permission.
- Press Open. The links open together in one group.
Making a group by hand
Right-click any tab, choose Add tab to new group, then drag more tabs into it. That works for a few tabs; for a list of twenty or more, the extension is faster.
Questions
How do I create a tab group in Chrome?
Right-click a tab and choose Add tab to new group. To create one from a list of links in one step, use the Tab Group open mode in Multiple URL Opener.
Why does Chrome ask for a permission?
Tab groups use the tabGroups permission, which the extension requests only when you first open a list as a tab group. Everything else works without it.
What is the group called?
The extension titles it URL Opener and gives it a random Chrome color. To rename or recolor it, click the group label in the tab strip.
What if I decline the permission?
The links still open, as normal tabs in the current window, without a group.
